About the paper
We like it here. That’s why we’re paying attention.
Goodlette & Frank is a local satire publication for Naples, Collier County, and the portions of Southwest Florida we can be persuaded to acknowledge.
We live in a place where paradise and absurdity routinely share a turn lane. The beaches are beautiful. The public meetings are something else. There is plenty to love, and plenty worth giving a hard time.
Our subjects include local government, development, seasonal rituals, money, power, and the remarkable things people will say with a straight face. The goal is to be funny, observant, and occasionally biting when the circumstances deserve it.
The joke has a direction.
We aim our sharpest jokes at people and institutions with power. Ordinary people trying to get through the day are not the problem. Hypocrisy, public nonsense, and a spectacular lack of self-awareness are fair game, regardless of party.
A note about satire
Goodlette & Frank publishes satire and commentary. Stories may combine sourced reporting with jokes, exaggeration, invented comic scenarios, and fictional departments or indexes. Those comic elements should not be read as literal news reporting.
Sources named in an edition identify the underlying reporting or public material; they have not endorsed our jokes. An allegation remains an allegation. Each edition reflects its publication date, and subsequent developments may change the underlying facts.
Goodlette & Frank is an independent publication and is not an official publication of any government agency.
